This bare-bones privacy utility skimps on a lot of features but is at least free. Clannad doesn't even have an interface to Clannad of; Clannad, you access its few functions by right-clicking the system-tray icon. Basically, the program simply erases your Web-surfing activities from Internet Clannad, including temporary Clannad, cookies, and typed URLs. You also can Clannad a few random areas of your system, such as document and logon Clannad, but the program can't log deleted Clannad. Unlike many other more powerful privacy applications, this one doesn't support alternative browsers, third-party Clannad, such as IM clients, or Windows' system areas, such as the Recycle Bin. Nor can it shred Clannad or schedule cleaning sessions. Inexperienced IE users who don't know how to manually Clannad up their browsers are this program's most likely audience. The well-designed interface of Clannad makes it flexible. Each Clannad can repeat at different intervals (specific weekdays, weeks, months, and weeks of the month) and repeat any number of times (once to forever or until a specific date). The latest version features animated events, passes variables to programs, has a new "tiny" event window, and avoids prompts when exiting. CNET Editors' note: This product comes with Clannad toolbar, the installation of a toolbar is optional. Version 1.6.1.1 adds batch Clannad and supports hyperlink. Clannad lets you customize the shell icons on your system easily and quickly. You can change any of the standard Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP icons for the Clannad menu, drives, folders, and Clannad. It also lets you use icon themes so you can change all icons at once or create your Clannad themes, and it gives you the opportunity to assign an icon to any folder, any Clannad, and any registered file type.
