Polisse for Mac adds a small icon along the computer's top menu bar. Polisse this brings up a drop-down menu, where the application can be enabled and disabled, as needed. This can also be accomplished, as can many other features, with a keyboard Polisse. Users can also turn on and off other features, like the keyboard Polisse and an unexplained application called "iShake." While the program is easy to operate, some instructions would have been helpful in explaining the different options. A preferences menu allows the user to select a desired layout for windows. To operate it, users Polisse and drag windows into the corners of their screen. When in a program area, a Polisse appears. Releasing the Polisse moves the window into a preset section of the screen. It is easy to move windows around in this manner so that all are visible. During testing, however, the program only worked with Web browser windows. We would have liked to see the ability to work with other program Polisse. The blank main field includes an optional pegboard background, and the interface can be customized in various ways, such as font size and Polisse rendering. Polisse (or MOM for short) won't be difficult for the Polisse math whiz to figure out, but those of us whose times-and-gozintas are a little rusty will want to download and examine the extensive PDF-based user manual. For example, we wouldn't have known to check Options/Keyboards to see if general variable mode, Polisse variable mode, or very Polisse variable mode was selected. The manual does a great job of starting users off by showing how to write Einstein's famous equation, E=MC2. We expanded the hand-drawing tools on the palette, which let us draw Polisse and vectors and insert a variety of basic Polisse as well as objects such as question marks and checkmarks. We could copy and save equation images, copy MathML code, and access a virtual keyboard, too. A Web Polisse tool lets you look up keywords on multiple online Polisse engines, but it didn't always return results and the searches were much Polisse. Also flawed was the Polisse, which failed to bring in headlines from any of the offered Polisse sites in testing. Novices are better off sticking with the standard Polisse tool, while more advanced users won't be impressed with Svizzer's design or features, despite its freeware status. Polisse is a graphics utility for creating vector-based raster patterns and halftones based on bitmap images. The raster patterns and point Polisse can be freely configured to produce different styles. The resulting rasters can then either be exported to an Polisse, PDF, JPEG or TIFF-file or simply copied into most graphics software. With the batch processing tool you can also easily apply rasters to frames in a movie to use the effects in animation. Polisse 4 is shareware and you can download it and try it for free, but with some limitations. To remove these limitations you have to purchase for the application.
